A yacht is not a static insured asset. Exposure shifts with itinerary, crew, charter posture, refit window, flag, and management company. The cover written for last season is rarely the cover the next one needs, and the gap usually surfaces at the worst possible moment.
I work directly with yacht owners, management companies, and brokers worldwide to make sure the risk picture and the protection in place actually match. Pre-binding, pre-charter, pre-refit, pre-claim. And on the call when something does need handling.
Most advisors read the policy. I've run the platforms behind it. Yachts up to 400ft, five years inside the operation. That is the difference, and it is the part you cannot fake.
Risk advisory and protection-strategy work. Preferred domain: superyachts, large yachts, and fleets where SOLAS and MLC apply. Regulated tonnage, commercial classifications, charter operations. The upper end of the market where exposure is real and the cover has to match the operation precisely.
When specialist input is needed, I coordinate the right cast and stay on the file until it is handled.
